PXI multiplexers have switches terminated at 67 GHz

Aimed at 5G and semiconductor testing, Pickering’s PXI/PXIe microwave multiplexers switch internally terminated 50 Ω signals up to 67 GHz. Internal 50 Ω relay terminations improve signal integrity by allowing unused channels of a test system to be terminated into the characteristic impedance of the signal path.

The 40-785C (PXI) and 42-785C (PXIe) panel mount modules are available in single and dual, SP4T and SP6T configurations with front panel relays. Space-saving remote versions are also available that can accommodate up to three multiplexers in a single location. The remote mounting option connects each switch to the control module using a supplied 1.5m interface cable. This reduces the length of RF connections, maximizing performance and minimizing cabling costs.

“To help monitor the status of the test system, the 4x-785C family includes a switch cycle counting feature,” said Steve Edwards, Switch Product Manager, Pickering. “Determining the number of operations per channel can help manage the attrition process by allowing alternative paths with low utilization to be replaced by channels with high utilization.”
