Huawei has released the EMUI 12 operating system, which includes a suite of new features, user interface (UI) design, animation effects, a transparent device controller and other significant improvements over EMUI 11.
The design of EMUI 12 mirrors the design scheme of the HarmonyOS operating system. From UI to features, all carry the same beat. However, Huawei remained silent on the EMUI 12-based software.
Let’s cut to the chase and explore the features of EMUI 12:
EMUI 12 comes with an innovative new UI design that has beautiful rounded corners and provides a seamless viewing experience. There are finely tuned gradients that create the perfect sense of depth in the display, while the simple black, white and blue color format provides a clean and refined look.
This EMUI software comes with new animation effects that reflect realistic gravity and magnet animation effects. The latest animations added to the user interface reflect the movement of celestial objects in the universe and make the overall touch interaction more fluid and interactive.
The new software supports stepless weight adjustment, allowing you to adjust the font size and weight by simply adjusting the slider. This new feature improves user viewing experience and makes UI labels more visible for better UI controls.
The Control Panel is an all-in-one solution that you can access by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. The control panel includes settings for audio playback, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth on the same screen.
That’s not it, because in the Control Panel, the commands mentioned above are followed by a shortcuts section. There is also a Device+ section. The Control Panel’s goal is to provide you with the fastest possible options while on the go without the fastest pace.
Compared to EMUI 11, the notification center is now separated from the quick settings panel. Users now have a brand new notification center, which you can access by swiping down from the top left corner of the screen.
Finally, let’s talk about “Device+”. This feature resembles the Super Device feature of HarmonyOS 2. What are the use cases? Let’s take a quick look.
You can simply tap the MatePad icon (as shown in the image) to enable multi-screen collaboration with MatePad. It will help you to make calls, send messages and check photos from your phone on the tablet screen.
Once connected to MateBook, you can edit files from your phone directly using your laptop’s larger screen with ease of access. Want to enjoy your phone’s content on an even bigger screen? Don’t worry, EMUI 12’s Device+ supports Huawei Vision smart TVs.
Finally, Device+ headphone support lets you listen to audio from the other connected device such as Huawei Vision, without disturbing others.
Distributed File System:
The distributed file system is quite powerful and works better, with this feature you can get instant access to your phone’s documents or photos as easily as accessing another disk drive on your laptop.
Even more interestingly, all of these features can be performed without touching your phone’s data cable.
MeeTime video calls were introduced with EMUI 10.1 and improved in EMUI 11. With EMUI 12, Huawei takes a step ahead, this feature now supports multi-device video calls, you can seamlessly transfer video calls captured on your phone to Huawei Vision by using the MeeTime video call transfer feature and transfer the call to your phone as needed.
It’s time to come to an important part – Performance, the EMUI 12, provides faster web pages and applications to load when you scroll. You can return to the page the next time you load it.
Even after a long period of use, the EMUI 12 guarantees optimal performance, operation response and application startup as it did initially.
Finally, security. EMUI 12 comes with better security and privacy protection, you can enter your password to unlock your phone from your laptop while connected with multi-screen collaboration feature.
Plus, you can set your smartwatch as your phone’s trusted device for extra protection. Your phone will only respond when logged in via face unlock.
